The front of the Panzer IV/70 was overloaded, which reflected on its reliability. A proposal to thin the front armour from 80 mm to 60 mm in order to reduce the weight was made #OTD in 1944. Even though it was approved, the change was never implemented.

Delivery of the T-34M prototype was due #OTD in 1941. Even though blueprints were complete and some armoured components were even built, the German invasion put a stop to any prospective tank projects. Some ideas from the T-34M were reused on the T-34.

Originally, the KV-13 prototype was due #OTD in 1942. Even though the project was struck down by several high ranking officials including Stalin, the tank entered trials a mere month and a half late.
