I bought these 22 years ago when the LOTR extended editions were released on DVD. Now I have replaced the DVDs with the 4Ks and have them sitting on my shelf thankfully knowing that they will never "disappear".

I just read that 23 out of 58 men sent to WW1 from Tolkien’s 1911 Exeter College cohort did not come back. There was a 40% chance we never got Lord of the Rings or Middle Earth. <shivers>
