Countertop RO filter showing an output TDS (total dissolved solids) of 39 ppm (parts per million). In back is a countertop hydroponic unit with two Laura #5 tomato plants which threaten to eat the universe. Foreground is tools and parts.

The filter only makes 1.1 liters at a time, and I’ll need about 15 liters, so, this may take a few minutes.

Realizing my technique is pretty crude compared with yours. lol I just kinda mix nutrients in a 5 gallon bucket and top off my weird selection of jars as needed. But it's fascinating to see your process. I'm learning.

Well, I’m trying to learn how to be more precise about things. It’s an ongoing process. A couple of weeks ago I almost killed the two mason jar tomatoes by topping the jars off wrong! With better water I should be able to monitor the situation more accurately. I hope!

Also, for me this is more of a science project that happens to produce vegetables, and not so much a gardening project that uses water and nutrients. So the tools I put together may get weirder! 😆

Every garden is an experiment for us. Goal is to have year round fresh basic produce. Grow lights on timers. Can be switched to solar in an outage. But basic setup is pretty primitive compared to yours

I figured out I shouldn't drown the air roots, so same. I've been growing Tiny Toms in larger containers so I don't have to top up every day. Seems to work. I admire your precision.
