A sign the AI bubble is about to burst?
Karl_P · 14 · 20h ago
Yes, kinda like building monorails.
No worries, we’ll ask ChatGPT to fix all this by Monday!

Do I see cracks forming ?

The AI bubble can't pop soon enough
Mondays market open might be all red!

Unless Trump gets a deal with Iran. Or talks. Or an updated MOU. Oh hell.
rede2fly.bsky.social · 0 · 6h ago
Probably will open green, when was the last time markets seemed rational?
Christopher Howell · 5 · 18h ago
So long data centers. We hardly knew ye.

The "Friday Night News Dump" is just the corporate version of "I’m going to tell you this now so you can spend the weekend pretending it didn't happen." The GPU gods demand a sacrifice.
Nothing like a little intellectual paucity you keep things interesting. 😒
ireidani.bsky.social · 0 · 6h ago
It seems like AI should be able to solve these problems.

That Jane Street loss is a bit worrying, how many other traders and funds are close to insolvency because of the sudden drop in the value of chip stocks.

It seems they are trying to bury the bad news on the weekend... This clusterfuck is direct result of unleashing AI prematurely just for the purpose of selling stock

Diamond Life · 1 · 9h ago
It depends.

Having a chuckle at all the ppl confusing a potential market correction with the cutting-edge frontier AI. Markets are markets - there will be winners and losers. Look at the railroads roller coaster in the 19th century. Look at the 2000/02 dot-com crash. Now we have high-speed AI rail and quantum.
Coco the Nerd · 4 · 20h ago
You are forgetting how long it took for people to emerge from dot.com 1.0. And it was the quiet ones who were working on actual problems. Not AI wrappers. And there was a secondary market to absorb the reasonable people.
Coco the Nerd · 4 · 20h ago
You are going to have a bunch of college dropouts who think they are worth 200k competing with master degrees who can’t get an entry level job.
Sam O Yed · 0 · 12h ago
These kinds of comparisons are only helpful as a reminder that markets figure things out over time. But the special sauce here is obviously the AI. IF it evolves to where the industry expects - let’s say as good as our best, self-recursive, physical world awareness, robotics - than it won’t need ppl
Coco the Nerd · 0 · 7h ago
If you believe that you truly have misunderstood humanity and what AI is. Automation has been happening since we evolved. The market will evolve and those who can present a true value prop for AI win.
Coco the Nerd · 0 · 7h ago
Junk applications will still exist but they will be in the category of an app to play a stupid mobile game or a sex robot. And the dumb masses will say oooh and ahh and the rest of us will still work but in slightly different way.
Coco the Nerd · 1 · 7h ago
And an entirely new industry will prop up to support the good and bad side of AI. If I were a therapist, I would start specializing in social media and AI addiction.
Sam O Yed · 0 · 5h ago
IF AI gets to be as advanced as experts are predicting, very few human will have paying jobs in 20 years from now. There would be a real chance at an age of abundance, where ppl will be free to choose what they do - hobbies, communes, volunteer, VR scales, space tourism, ashrams, clubs etc.
Coco the Nerd · 0 · 4h ago
Yes I will do it in my flying time traveling car that was in Back to the future that was set in the future of 2015.
Sam O Yed · 0 · 2h ago
One problem with this - and I’m seeing it often on Bluesky - we already have remarkably powerful AI now, in 2026. We never had that before. And no, I’m not talking these publicly available LLM chat bots. I’m talking the cuttimg-edge frontier models, military, space, industry, math etc.

They don't have to be smart, they just have to be shameless lying sociopathic narcissists which nearly all of them are and for some reason we as a species reward them with untold wealth and luxury for that terrible behaviour

China is offering "good enough" open source Ai models for free. US companies will have no pricing power. Convince me it's not the dot-com bubble mach2
glory-b.bsky.social · 1 · 19h ago
And Trump has just announced it will be an "us or them, choose now!" status for the rest of the world. Moving towards a US v China situation.

I’m heavily invested in the market but not all in on tech. The one bright spot is that if things crash before November it will help Democrats in the midterms. Stocks always bounce back. I’m not selling anything. I’ve got 2 years worth of safe $$. Not worried at all.
How do you say "the economy isn't good" without coming out and saying "the economy isn't good." That AI crash is gonna be devastating. SCREW THEM DATA CENTER PEOPLE AND THEIR ACRES OF BLADE SERVERS CHEWING UP MY POSTS FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S PROFITS.
Looks like the LLM bubble finally burst. So long throwing a glorified spell checker and text pattern matcher at everything and anything because you can.
I should say, because you can and because it's the cool thing to do.

All the millionaires and billionaires who build factories and plants can deduct 100% of the cost of construction IMMEDIATELY rather than it taking like 39 years. It sounded like a grift and, well…
