Walking to work in the oppressive heat with this in the cans...perfect conditions for it. Its a cracking debut and the mind boggles at what those Knopfler fingers can do. Its a shame the 80s had to happen but this is pre sweatband magic

You seen this Sky Arts episode of the series Brian J did? When it starts here they're both still acting a little bit showbiz, but as it goes on you can see all traces of that evaporating and by the time they're singing "Rock Island Line" at a pub table, they're just Geordie grandads pure and simple.

I think they did! Maybe not consistently but every album has absolute gems. Follow Me Home / Skateaway / Romeo / Telegraph Road / Private Investigations / Brothers title track all still sound gorgeous, and I'm a sucker for the Alchemy album as a whole.
