A Green-veined white Butterfly, wings partially opened, rests on a purple cranesbill Geranium by the garden path. The butterfly isn't normally seen in gardens , preferring hedgerows and meadows but I live near to both. I think this might be a female as they have two spots on their forewing as opposed to one in the male. Wiki says: "The veins on the wings of the female are usually more heavily marked. The underside hindwings are pale yellow with the veins highlighted by black scales giving a greenish tint, hence green-veined white. Unlike the large and small whites, it rarely chooses garden cabbages to lay its eggs on, preferring wild crucifers." Camera: iPhone 15 Pro.
