A small, bright green parrot (22 to 24 cm (about 9 in) long) with yellow scalloped markings across its breast and neck perches on a diagonal branch against a soft, leafy background. It has a vivid coral-red beak and an orange ring around its eye. Clue: Look closely at my chest—those bright yellow patterns look just like fish scales, giving away the name of this native Australian nectar-lover! Fun fact: Like others of its kind, they have specialized "brush-tipped" tongues covered in tiny papillae, perfectly adapted for lapping up nectar and pollen from flowering eucalyptus trees. Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1) Text source: Gemini (Edited) 📷: Photo by JJ Harrison via Wikimedia (CC BY-SA 3.0) https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:JJ_Harrison&oldid=48002496
