A monochrome shot of 4 businessmen crammed next to each other on a subway in Seoul, South Korea, July 2024. They are all conked out asleep, eyes closed, heads down, back, or to the side a little. Three are wearing glasses. No idea if they knew each other. While I was living in Korea and teaching English, I loved watching people on the subway. This particular shot typifies just how hard the Korean people I knew worked, and how busy they were, 24/7. A nap on the subway between work and home or dinner out with work colleagues was pretty typical, I discovered. Seoul is REALLY the city that never sleeps. I really loved my time in Korea. I’d love to go back and take more pictures and see my friends again.
