Since 1970, 27 tropical cyclones (TCs) have approached within 250 km of the Hawaiian islands. Tropical Storm #Lala is expected to become the 28th. Lala's expected motion would increase right-of-track onshore flow in mountainous terrain, exacerbating freshwater flooding and mudslide concerns.
