My trauma was life altering, but not life-ending. Nearly 12 years of PTSD changed everything. But eventually, I had to decide whether I wanted to keep surviving or start living again. I want a life bigger than my fear. 🖤

My trauma was life altering, but not life-ending.
The PTSD made nearly 12 years of my life a living nightmare.
But I feel like I came out the other side stronger. More resilient.
And I feel like, without the trauma, I wouldn't be the person I am today.
You can't glorify and wash away the bad.
But you can't make new memories and a life without taking chances again.
Without living again.

And I want to live.
I don't want to stay locked in my house, afraid to leave my porch.
Why prolong that life?
It's a no-brainer to me.

Surviving isn't the same as living.
Sometimes healing means deciding you're ready to live again.
