Had been having reliability issues with my ZWave network so decided to upgrade from an old Aeotec adapter to the #HomeAssistant Connect ZWA-2. Was not quite prepared for how large this thing is.

A small, white USB Z-Wave dongle branded Aeotec in the palm of my hand.

What problems, dewbert?

Devices were constantly losing connection to the Z-Wave network, especially the alarm keypads and door sensors.

I have it the other way around. Zigbee flaky and Z-Wave solid.

My Zigbee isn't great either, but the protocol seems to manage self-healing better.

Yeahhhhh. On the plus side, no more range issues!

I don't think I remember you having a Tidbyt. Did you know there's an HA add-on that can run your applets locally? I use it to display my flights, now playing info from Sonos and Plex/Jellyfin and my Solar data You can pass HA variables so it can display anything github.com/savdagod/Tid...

Its massive 😂 I got one to use as a Thread radio so can't really say how good its RF performance is but it's gotta be a huge upgrade for your zwave network
