National's South Island plan: Restrictions on data centres, Queenstown gondola funding, clearer river gravel rules (interest.co.nz)

National Party pledges new restrictions on data centres, Queenstown gondola funding, clearer river gravel rules in South Island plan

Just to spell it out: National has NOT announced new funding for a Queenstown gondola. What it has announced is a gondola could get funding from the national land transport fund. Any funding for the gondola is less funding for busses & trains elsewhere www.interest.co.nz/public-polic...

Isn't the NLTF already tapped out for the foreseeable future on the RoNS being way more expensive than they originally budgeted for?

It is fair to say that even before this announcement there was not enough money for all the desired services. If the gondola goes ahead there will be even less

Not to mention in the queue behind the near pointless road that will take up the next two government cycles worth of funding for anything significant.
When did this policy about firmed power come out? Just now? Like it wasn't part of their original plan and only got added after everyone pointed out their impact?
