I watched the eclipse last night at Wicken Fen and as the heat of the sun reduced during the height of the eclipse, butterflies and damselflies gathered on branches of the tree behind me.

I'm no expert, but it felt like they were settling to roost at last light. Once the sun came out again and the direct heat returned they all took off again.
