Please wake me up when iOS devices can have their bootloaders unlocked. Or when bootloader unlocks are required by law. I am hopeful that the two will one day happen, even though it is unlikely. (end of rant)

There's a lot more to the OM saga which I won't add here for brevity reasons, but yeah, generally I trust FOSS more for this reason. I would trust a FOSS app more with my data than Big Tech because I know that one of them will (usually) respect my privacy. And that one won't be Big Tech.
