As a child, he’d often wondered what it would be like to have a tail, though he now understood why the concept had been retired byevolution. The radiators began to knock above the dull squawking of thetelevision,astern suggestion from the house to get a fire going in the stove that reigned over thelittletile plateau near the basement door.
