14 Aug: Reputed Feast 40 martyrs, Co. #Mayo. Thought during reign of Elizabeth I, 40 Cisterian Order monks with their Abbot killed. Those who doubt it think Elizabeth had little control of Co. Mayo though several abbeys burned to ground in Mayo during her reign. 📷Clare Island Abbey
