lock-in risk is real but it's not unique to Cloudflare, D1/Workers/DO sharing one runtime is the same bet as RDS+Lambda+SQS, you're just picking whose primitives your architecture gets welded to. what matters more is whether the abstraction maps to open interfaces or just their own APIs.
