This is so beautiful with this light and mood Amy ✨️ 💛

Thank you, Marjo! Turkey used to love to sleep in this tree, so when i was there in the morning I loved to see them. You could hear them gobble as they woke

Such a lovely shot. This is the kind of photo that brings a feeling of peace and calm into your life. Thx Amy.

I am so glad it gave you that moment of peace and calm. It is so needed! Being in nature is my moment of zen (so to speak) 😊

I’m always a bit surprised that they can get up there 🙂
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
It does not seem like they should be able to - even when we know they can!

Wonderful shot, Amy! It fits well with #SensoryArt #Silhouette
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
Thank you, Rina. I didn't realize that was a theme - it does fit!😊 many thanks!

You're welcome, Amy ☺️

Always mind boggling when such birds, ones that look so likely to be incapable of flight manage to roost at night high, high up in a tree. Similar with our Australian Brushturkey.
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
Yes! I almost put this as unusual although I know they sleep in trees and have photographed them there many times. But it still amazes and amuses me. Does that bird look similar? I need to look it up!

Smaller than an American Turkey, & not really a turkey at all. They're one of those mound building birds where they lay their eggs. In this case they then bugger off and the chicks have to cope all by themselves. They're also VERY well adapted to urban environments. This pair was in my backyard.
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
Very nice! I can see how they got the name. Looks cross between a turkey and a turkey vulture!
Neil Cameron · 1 · 1d ago
Looking at 'em, I do think on a size-basis they possibly have the smallest brain case of any living bird (and probably quite a few extinct ones). And it shows. They are a longgggg way from being the smartest tools in the shed.

Well, looking forward to them joining Trump's cabinet!😂😂 they would be an improvement
Neil Cameron · 0 · 1d ago
🤣😂 While they may be dumber than small piles of bricks. And while they may be among the world's worst absentee parents. They are FAR FAR too nice to be in the Pedo Shitler's 4th Reich administration.

I should hope so, but lacking intelligence is a key trait!😂😂
Brilliant!

Thank you!😊

A fine photo indeed, Amy. 👍🏼
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
Thank you, Audrey! (Or as my phone just wanted to call you - Padre😆 autocorrect is stupid)
Aj d'Wit (Audrey) · 1 · 1d ago
😂🤣😂🤣 Well, I could tell you something about that, your autocorrect is not as silly as you believe. 😊🫶🏻
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
Intriguing! But I never use the word Padre but I have used Audrey many times, so it is absurd that it would think I actually meant the word I never use😂 I also have to fight with it when I type a contraction as it doesnt seem to believe they exist
Aj d'Wit (Audrey) · 1 · 1d ago
I have that same struggle with the autocorrect. I’ve actually written a poem about it. I’ll see if I can find it and post it on this post. As for the other thing, that’s a long story. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
I would be interested to read it! Stories don't have to be told. Some stories are hidden within us and that is okay unless or until we want to tell them!😊

Just found in my pile. I got frustrated when I was writing poems on my computer directly, and autocorrect kept interfering. Hence these words.
Amy Gann · 1 · 1d ago
I love this so much!! Bravo!
