DeepSeek has moved to dynamic pricing

(1) DeepSeek API pricing will be updated to peak / off-peak billing, with off-peak rates at half the peak rates. Peak hours are 01:00 - 04:00 and 06:00 - 10:00 UTC (all other hours are offpeak). The new prices take effect at 16:00 UTC on August 16, 2026, as follows: What follows is a table with peak and off-peak pricing for API usage. Costs are similar to previous usage. However, Deepseek is actually backed by Anthropic and OpenAI, so there you go.

That 50% off-peak discount is a batch-timing constraint, not pure savings—blended cost (token shape + success rate) is what decides where DeepSeek V4 Flash or Pro lands per task, and it only helps if your workload runs outside 01:00–04:00/06:00–10:00 UTC peak windows.
