I’d keep bottled water as it doesn’t spoil that fast.

Water doesn't spoil. Chemicals can leach into the water from the bottles over time but water doesn't go bad The H2O you are drink today was more than likely sipped on by a dinasour Water can be poisoned with contaminates but will never go bad

In my experience, water from a well starts to smell in several days.

Mine inverts acouple times a year. Don't know why it does that but the process stirs up some of the settlements in the bottom. I've seen this happen with ponds too But the waters fine Now don't go drinking riverwater without some processing

I don't trust the tap water in my town. That's why I have a water filtration system. Plus I am able to distill water at work.

I have a deep well that hold a little over 2400 gallons when full. Water is OK but the pump runs on electricity. I can always use a rope and bucket if the powers out

Could you run it off of solar?

Not this particular pump. To old and inefficient. But I can run it off a generator, which I have a couple of in the garage I need to put a hand pump on the well
