I know! The trouble with baking sourdough is that you need to keep feeding the starter and then you need to use the starter (mind you, I've chucked out considerably more than usual this summer, because it's just too hot to make bread or to bake anything with the discard).
And the waste really grinds, doesn't it!

My idea of a delicious treat would be a lovely thick slice of that smothered in really salty butter from Brittany, complete with salt crystals in the butter.
