I can't fathom having the reaction time to get good pictures of hummingbirds.
One was outside the house the other day, and by the time I was fully focused it was off and out of sight.
That one is a beauty.

the trick is to use a tripod and pre-compose your pic on a flower you expect the bird will visit. when it stops at your flower, start clicking. use a high ISO & an aperture that will provide a decent amount of dof as well as a shutter speed faster than 1/2000s to stop the wings.

Have had a feeder for a couple years now. Finally got the nectar right, I think. Went from 1-2 to 6-7 this year. I’ve tried getting pics, but me and the cats enjoy watching them too much. Tip…cleaning between feeds is key.
I’ve always clean the feeder between fillings and use a 1-4 ratio of cane sugar to water. hummers drain it.
