Followup. Here's the inside. You take out the hard cover case with the booklet and the CDs in there. Behind that is a paper sleeve that holds the batteries and the light in place. You take THAT out of the cardboard sleeve to change the batteries. I think in 31 years I've had to change batteries 3x.
I bought the Blu-ray a couple years back. Showed up with dead battery for the light. :( Haven't bothered replacing it yet cause I think it's a watch battery buried in the box frame somewhere but I should at some point.
I wonder if it's the same thing as the 1995 CD. Here's a 5 sec video of it on my desk right now (no audio).
I actually use Pulse as a base for my Amazon Echo in my office, since this new kind of Echo has the light at the bottom now, and I can’t see it from where I sit in my office. :)
