PUBLIC NOTICE SYNAPSE REAL ESTATE CORP. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT ACT NOTICE OF APPLICATION In accordance with the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, Synapse Real Estate Corp. has applied for an approval under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act to construct a 1.4 GW Natural Gas Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Thermal Power Plant with an attached 1 GW Data Center in the Town of Cids, Alberta. The 1.4 GW Power Plant is expected to occupy approximately 20 acres of the 273 acre parcel of land. The remaining 90% of land wil be occupied by a 1GW Data Center and Data Center Support infrastructure. The Project includes a combined cycle power generation system, which means the utilization of gas turbine generators and steam turbine generators, and diesel-fired back-up emergency generators. The power plant will utilize the Best Avallable Control Technologies for emissions control. The Power Plant will be located 500m to the NE of Olds, Alberta in a zoned industrial area on SW-04-033-01-W5M and NW-04-033-01-W5M. A directly affected person may provide input into certain regulatory decisions, as allowed by the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (section 73).
