Luckily, we watched 500+ #BrownPelicans and many #Gulls and #Terns in a feeding frenzy from the south jetty of the Columbia... just a small portion of the action.

I saw at LEAST 200 Brown Pelicans in Ocean Shores, WA last weekend and I would not at all be surprised if it was closer to 500.

There were so many birds, it was impossible to capture with a photo. Perhaps should have tried video. This was August 5th and there were none there on August 6th. Of course, they travel continously up and down the coast hunting. Was up high on the jetty so birds were at eye level and below!

Absolutely, I couldn't get a good shot either because there were wayy too many. My sighting was August 8th, seems possible! I was on the beach and saw them crashing down into the water and then floating for awhile

We went back the next day for more pics, but they were all gone. Did see a Gray Whale feeding, however! 😍

In addition to the Pelicans actively fishing, there was a colony of another 500 or more Brown Pelicans sunning themselves on the beach. (No, I am not exaggerating the number of birds)
