Great set of 70s comics. I had these and loved them. I still remember the cold war nuclear bomb story with the Russian generals freaking out about an approaching "bomb.". Not gonna spoil it. And of course machine man. Fun. Classic Kirby.

Just love that run, such cool stories and what a set of creatives! For #MondayRunday I’m going with Generation X Vol 1 #1 to #75 (1994 to 2001). It being the ‘90’s and a foil cover, I picked up 5 copies of #1 when it came out. This series gave us Chamber, Penance, Monet St. Croix, among others.

Dr. Droom is basically a Dr. Strange prototype - American Caucasian doctor travels to the far east, meets a mystic master in the mountains, and is given powers to battle evil magic. Except that the master also transforms his features into those of an East Asian man. Like I said, not great. #comicsky

so that’s his origin in issue 1. For one brief story in each of issues 2, 3, 4, and 6, he acts as a sort of globetrotting troubleshooter. The first four are drawn by Jack Kirby, the last by Paul Reinman. #JackKirbyMonth
