Maybe it was an optional extra/dealer gift to go with a CD changer. I searched the code on the spine of the first case and this popped up, I guess they just got a bunch of compilations from EMI. www.discogs.com/release/3650...
Good theory, I figured it would either be a launch gift or a dealer thing. I just thought if the actual discs were correct they would at least stick Jag on the branding SOMEWHERE on them. I've had a look and nothing, just EMI stuff
All discs from 1988 though, so not different years or anything
Bowers & Wilkins!
This is the sort of thing that @sniffpetrol.com would have filed in his rolodex of weird, obscure motoring trivia.
Google when I want to find something to do with the Atari Jaguar CD: *tumbleweed*
Google when I want to find 'the jaguar cd collection': Here's everything you could possibly want for the Atari Jaguar CD!
FFS 😂 I do have a vague memory of this being 'a thing' though
Didn't they give these out at one point to show off the soundsystems in top end motors? I'm sure I've heard that, but not sure if it was Jaguar.
Would make sense, and possibly to show off a 10 disc changer?
Did they ever stick a ten disc changer in a Jag? I know a lot had six disc ones, and I think the later Bowers and Wilkins ones could rip a few discs and store them digitally. It's an odd promo item, but Jaguar associated itself with all sorts of weird shit over the years.
