Working on the inaugural Sabres team set. The 1970-71 Topps set has always been a favorite of mine. I have a Gilbert Perreault RC, but will get another for the binder.

I'd never picked up on this before, but what's up with 70-71 Topps Hockey cards showing expansion team players in their new uniforms? It certainly wasn't like that for the other 1970s expansion teams. Maybe 70-71 cards came out later in the season?

Whoa, there's a smoking gun if I ever saw one. He was a Sabre on paper for one day in November, and he appears in that season's set? (I can just hear some Topps employee saying "I finished the airbrushing! What? Well, shoot" )

Here's something else interesting about Baun... The Sabres traded him to the Blues but he wanted to play for an Original Six team so he didn't report until the Blues traded him to the Leafs 9 days later en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_B...
