A Democrat Sounds the Alarm on Christian Nationalism in Congress (Gift Article) (nytimes.com)

Representative Jared Huffman of California, the only self-declared “humanist” in Congress, writes in a new book that the separation of church and state is in grave danger.

Did you know that Cheney deleted how involved christianists were when they edited the 1/6 report? This article is worth the read for all kinds of reasons. Gifted www.nytimes.com/2026/08/09/u...

Antinomianism is now called Christian Nationalism. Accept Jesus as Savior & all your past, present, & FUTURE sins are forgiven. No need to repent again OR to obey Commandments, Laws, norms of morality & ethics. Heaven is yours. Lie, steal, exploit, torture, rape, kill, enslave...all's forgiven!

I'm not mocking accepting Jesus as one's Savior. It's that CNs have twisted it. They hide behind it & assert unshakably that it's their get-out-of-jail-free card in Heaven AND on Earth. They use it to destroy our Democracy & hurt countless millions in countless ways. "Others" are of no consequence.

It is far too late to sound any sort of alarm about them.
This is striking. “he argues that extreme Christian nationalism, embraced and enabled by influential Republicans, is the country’s most dangerous political movement. He also accuses many of his own Democratic colleagues of being “incapable” of naming and confronting the threat.” They censored it.

When other states eg EURO, Canada 🇨🇦 are ridiculing the redundancy of American ‘democracy’ it generally will begin with the argument that: How can American government be fair&just when so much fucking MONEY is involved in the ELECTORAL PROCESS?! WTF? 🤑🤑🤑⚖️☠️🇺🇸 🗳️ It is a damn TEMPLATE for corruption
I agree. Money corrupts all eventually.

An electoral system that includes structural dependence on an inherently flawed element. Great plan for pirates 😉 ☠️ 🇺🇸
Democrats still have a problem naming the threats against us. Christian nationalism, fascism, Christo-fascism... Republicans...

I think a lot of them are held hostage by their religion. They think this is the way god wants it to be. They need Israel to exist or the foundations of their religion are gone. Deep down, they agree with the Christian Nationalists. If they didn't, they'd do something about it.
They put Israel first because they believe their salvation depends on Israel existing. I agree. Christian Evengelical/Pentecostal churches have been marrying the two destinies together for decades. It’s been a mutually beneficial relationship for Republicans and Israel.
Oh. I mean I agree with you when you said that. Ugh. I just read what I wrote and I want to make it clear I don’t agree with them. 😂

No worries! I thought you were clear the first time. I appreciate the clarification either way. I do the same thing 😁
Also agree. They need Israel, and they need the wars in the Middle East to launch their prophesied Armageddon. It's the Christian Zionists and Lindsey Graham acting as their champion who convinced Trump to attack Iran. Heaven forbid if peace were to accidentally break out.
What happens if we are ever put in a position where we are forced into a conflict and Israel is on the enemy side? How does that work? They can’t explain it.

Really? Sounds like child abuse to me.

Good article! 🪅 It's also worth taking the time to listen to James Talarico rip Christian Nationalism to pieces From the perspective of ... Christianity
