The guide thought probably her, based on the size of the crest. We didn't see either parent, which isn't too surprising since they only feed about every three days at this age, but you're going to be seeing a lot more of this baby, since we spent about ten hours with her.

Ten hours!! That's amazing. What a gorgeous bird. And I had no idea they feed them so infrequently at this stage. How interesting. I hope I can see one in person someday, as well! They've been one of my favorites since I first learned about them as a kid.

My husband had been wanting to see one for 60 years! I can imagine we might come back and stay for a week or two at some point, to get a better chance at the adults. Even the newborns apparently only get fed every two days, which is incredible.
