After @fiftywords.bsky.social, one can only say ditto. One detail, however, that particularly struck me was “dressing room cat.” The way the narrator lists it among the ordinary objects made me look it up to see if that was like a thing. I love that.
Yes, cats (dressing rooms, actors back door entry, etc.) are a real thing. Many theaters have a tradition of housing a cat that then belongs to the venue. Had to include it, of course! #poemsabout #mainstage
Oh yeah, it is a great detail, and perfectly placed!
Spot on - really enjoyed that 👏👏👏And have to say almost the very limb I went out on with mine - but written 40+ years ago and salvaged...
Yours was pretty good!!! 💃
Thank you. My younger self is glad it's out there .
A lively and knowing poem that uses theatrical performance to explore desire, spectacle, and the emotional cost of intimacy. I like how the accumulation of theatrical details makes the lovers seem simultaneously performers and people caught inside the performance.
Ah, @fiftywords.bsky.social you've done it again! Your insights are so damn sharp. Can't thank you enough for sharing them with me. 🙏🌹🙏
Like others, I love all the details. And @fiftywords.bsky.social said it all!
