I couldn't complete my recent series of photos from the Springburn area of Glasgow without re-posting this fabulous sculpture of a steam locomotive over the door of James Miller's 1903 North British Locomotive Company offices on Flemington Street.

I had afternoon tea many years ago at the North British Hotel in Edinburgh. Is the term North British still an acceptable term or have we moved on.

No, it's not. It was primarily used for a brief period between about 1890 and 1920. No idea why.
