Sandbar Sharks. Off the Hudson Canyon, these costal pelgaic sharks are very common, and get their name from the sandy bottoms of bays to harbors. 💙/🔄s are welcomed! 🦈

In the waters off the Hudson Canyon, a pair of Sandbar Sharks gather in search of food, to which a group of small schoolling fish would serve time to eat. Right after the Sand Tiger, Sandbar Sharks are commonly displayed in public aquariums due to them being easier to acquire for captivity. Unfortunately, because of overfishing and sharks being excessively killed by humans thanks to human activity overthrowing the balance of the ocean, they are now endangered meaning it’s up to us to help them or else the marine ecosystem falls apart. (Fun fact, I based the second shark off of one of my Aquarium photos which proved to be helpful for a reference)
