14 August 1985 Michael Jackson outbid Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono for the rights to the songs of Lennon & McCartney for $47:5 (now $120M). McCartney was unhappy as he had recently collaborated with Jackson. McCartney and Yoko Ono recently regained the rights.
