Flash Flood Warning issued August 14 at 2:56AM CDT until August 14 at 7:15AM CDT by NWS Chicago ILAt 256 AM CDT, local law enforcement and broadcast media reported
flash flooding was ongoing in the warned area, and in particular in
and around the Paxton area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have
fallen, with the highest amounts from near Gibson City to Paxton.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
area. Flash flooding is ongoing, with reports of several road
closures and water in basements.

HAZARD...Significant flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement and broadcast media.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset, significant flooding of creeks, streams,
drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage areas.
Widespread street and underpass flooding. Possible flooding
of structures, including basements. Possible flooding of
highways.
