Happy Saturday everybody! @atlanticbirding.bsky.social has set today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme as #50ShadesOfGrey; birds with grey plumage. We visited the trout farm at aviemore to see ospreys. This grey heron happily hoovered up the captive trout!

Wow, big catch Paul

Did the heron manage to swallow that fish. I remember many many moons ago when Maple Lodge was drying up a heron catching but failing to swallow the huge fish it had caught. The following day the now dead fish was in the same place on a drying up pool.
