#StarTrekVoyager S03E12: Macrocosm. Stardate 50425.1. Janeway, Neelix and the Doctor must retake Voyager from an infestation of macroviruses. A lot of bad CGI, and as a biologist I find this episode ridiculous. Rating 5/10.

This is one of those ones where I like the performances much better than the plot

Yep. But it’s classic Trek. Remember the flying plasma things in TOS? With 23(26?) episodes a season there’s bound to be some misses.

Shouldn't we take context into account? I think this episode was made right around the time Alien Resurrection was released and in that atmosphere it made sense to manufacture a Ripley-like moment for our female Starfleet Captain. Space Above & Beyond might also have been siphoning off viewers.
it aired almost a year before alien 4, which was in the middle of its filming at that time. alien 4 had nothing to do with it.
Another episode were virus and bacteria are used interchangeably. Why yes you guessed it! It's a Brennan Bragga script.
Yeah yeah. We WANTED JaneBo taking back her ship. But against you know a new species who got lucky. Not a gargantuan flu.
