Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #RunningFromTheLaw. Here's a Canada Goose juvenile coming out of Lake Terra at a dead run. If you look closely, you can see the cause--fishing line trailing behind it. 📷

Juvenile Canada Goose, running up a grassy slope. The bird is shown in left profile, its left leg raised to take a step and its entire body leaning forward for maximum speed. Yellow fuzz poking through the black feathers on its neck and face show that it's a juvenile. If you look very closely, you can see white string trailing behind it. This is some fishing line that its wing became entangled with in the lake, and apparently sent the goose into a panic. Off the frame, there is an adult goose behind it, honking furiously. After the juvenile ran itself to exhaustion and the adult gave up the chase, I was able to help the goose get free of the line.
