On his first visit, Larry opened up about how isolated he felt — he hadn’t been able to watch any of his own old Stooges shorts in years. So Saget went out, bought silent 8mm reels of the old shorts with his own money, borrowed a projector, and brought them back to show him.

Saget wrote in his memoir what happened next: Larry hadn’t seen the films in ten years, and watching himself alongside Moe and Curly again “touched him deeply.” By the end of the visit, Larry was crying and so was Saget.
