We’ve seen lots of #eclipse glasses being advertised on social media. If you’re buying or using them, make sure they’re genuine, ISO 12312-2:2015 compliant and CE marked. Don’t use eclipse glasses if you’re not sure they’re certified, or if they’re scratched, torn or damaged.

Regular sunglasses are not safe for looking at a solar eclipse, even if they’re very dark. If you can’t get eclipse glasses by Wednesday, you can still watch the eclipse safely by viewing it indirectly. Make a simple pinhole viewer or use a colander to project the Sun’s image onto a piece of paper.
