Really feel like they need to use a just *slightly* less terrifying alert sound for messages that aren’t “missiles literally in the air” level of emergency, but hey, what do I know
It's a similar tone to what's used in the US Emergency Alert System and similar mobile alert systems around the globe. It's *supposed* to grab your attention, even if it seems minor after reading the alert. It's making sure you're actually alerted. You can turn them off anyways so, meh.
Less scary tones have been trialed in places many times and most of the time people just ignore whatever advice is being given. There's a reason they're scary, because the public would ignore them if they weren't
