14 Aug 1976, funded by a £400 loan, 'So It Goes' by Nick Lowe became the first record released on Stiff Records. The label's marketing & advertising was often provocative & witty, billing itself as "The World's Most Flexible Record Label". Another slogan was "We came. We saw. We left".
