Prosecutors say an employee of Germany’s foreign intelligence service and an acquaintance have been charged with treason for allegedly passing secret documents to Russia.
The FBI helped Germany investigate the Carsten L. espionage case. That matters because a mole inside one allied service can compromise intelligence collected or shared by many. Counterintelligence has no borders!
